The Superhero of Geospatial Technology: Remote Sensing

Swift Geospatial is powered by incredible technology. To some it may seem supernatural at times; and with constant advancements each year we are only starting to appreciate the wonderful benefits of remote sensing. But just what is remote sensing? It is commonly described as the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of an area by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance. Our latest blog article delves into further detail to explain just what it is that we do at Swift Geospatial.

Going Off-Grid: Not Only A Smart Move; But A Sheer Necessity

Going off-the-grid is a trend that is highly relevant with the times we are living in; considering all the carbon emissions and concerning climate change stats there are out there. As South Africans; the first thought which I guarantee comes to mind is to escape the reliance on our crumbling Eskom; but looking further, more than 100 of the Fortune 500 companies have already received significant results by using solar power.

Swift Geospatial Partners With Ecosia For Pro-Active Tree Monitoring

We are proud to announce our plantation satellite monitoring partnership with Ecosia. As the world’s largest not-for-profit search engine, to date, Ecosia has planted more than 128 (and actively counting!) million trees across over 30 countries worldwide, all in the name of good-will. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, this aspiring initiative recently identified a shortfall; in order to improve the integrity of their services, the on-going monitoring of their trees was required.

Introducing Structure Suitability Solar Potential (MWh) Analysis

Our Beta Structure Suitability Solar Potential (MWh) online portal showcases the benefit of this data set in being able to identify which structures across the country are ideally suited for solar panels and hence solar power offerings. Solar companies looking to increase their solar panel footprint are then able to clearly earmark which structures to approach with their solar solutions.
